Our Services

Emergency Care - If you have serious problems, call 911 - otherwise:

While the  best  long  term  option  for  your  care  is  to  carefully  plan,  predetermine  coverage  and  reserve  adequate  schedule  time,  sometimes  unexpected  emergency  needs  arise.  If  you  contact  us  in  the  early  morning  on  a  day  the  office  is  open,  we  can  usually  work  you  in  to  evaluate  your  urgent  needs  and  provide  some  form  of  provisional  relief  that  same  day.  We  provide  a  24  hour  emergency  telephone  messaging  service  to  Dr.  Manuel,  so  he  can  address  your  crisis  situation at  times  the  office  is  closed.

Oral Sugery

Dr.  Manuel  spent  two  years  in  a  post  graduate  internship  through  all  the  dental  specialties,  including  Oral  Surgery.  He  has  performed  thousands  of  wisdom  teeth removals  and other moderately  complex  oral  surgery  procedures.  Of  course,  there  are  unusual  or  complex  surgery  procedures  for  which  we  would  refer  you  to  an  Oral  Surgeon.  Also,  while  we  have  Nitrous  Oxide  Sedation  in  the  office,  if  you  want  deeper  sedation  (to  be  “Knocked  Out”),  we  would refer.

Pediatric Dentistry

The  best  way  to  ensure  a  pleasant  dental  visit  for  children  is  to  bring  them  in  during  their  first  year,  or  at  least  BEFORE  they  need  extensive  work.  That  way  they  can  get  to  know  and  trust  us  in  a  non-threatening  environment.

While we enjoy working with kids, we don't want to do anything to create fearful experiences. As such, if your child needs significant dental work and is seriously frightened, we  may  refer him/her to see a Pediatric Dentist until the major work is done. If your child is cooperative and comfortable with us, we'd love to work with them. Sometimes they might see the specialist for major work and return to us for routine checkups, small fillings, etc.

Endodontics - “Root Canal Treatment”

A  number  of  conditions  can  lead  to  a  tooth’s  having  irreversible inflammation  of  the  pulp  tissue,  deep  inside  the  tooth.  Cleaning  and  sterilizing  and  sealing  the  small  canals  in  the  tooth‘s  roots  make  it  possible  place  it  back  in  normal  function.  Being  hollow  inside  after  the  pulp  cleaning,  a  “post“  or  “bonded  build  up”  is  needed  to  strengthen  the  tooth  so  it  can  hold  a  crown.  Endodontic  (Root  Canal)  Treated   Teeth,  often  damaged  from  decay  or  trauma)  dry  out,  become  brittle  and  are  likely  to  break,  so  a  Full  Crown  is  recommended  for  long  term  term  stability.

While  Root  Canals  are usually  successful,  sometimes  the  doctor  needs  to  reopen  the  tooth  to  look  for  extra  canals,  oddly  shaped  canals  that  could  harbor  tiny  nerve  fibers,  cracks,  etc..

Sterilizing  and  sealing  the  root  canals  usually  allows  the  bone  infection  around  the  tooth  to  heal  on  it’s  own,  but  sometimes  that  infected  area  at  the  root  tip  needs  to  be  cleaned  out  in  a  separate  procedure  called  “Apicoectomy”  or  “Apical  Currettage“,  or  “Apical  Surgery.”

Dr.  Manuel  uses  the  latest  Endodontic  technology  with  computer  controlled  electronic,  self  reversing  rotary  handpieces,  vertically  vibrating  files,  electronic  depth  finders, etc..  Dr.  Manuel  treats  and  seals  the  canals  using  bone  and  tissue  friendly  Bioceramic  Materials.

High  Magnification Telescopes  are  used  to  see  deep  down  into  canals.

Minimally Invasive Short Implants

Having placed  a  wide  variety  of  implant  designs  since  the  late  1970’s,  Dr.  Manuel  feels  the  least  invasive  implants  with  the  highest  bone  surface  area  per  length  are  the  best  choice  for  most  applications.

Bicon  Short  Implants  use  a  FINNED  design  instead  of  the  THREADS common  on  other  designs.  This  allows  a  more  gentle bone  preparation  and passive placement, resulting  much  greater  bone  support  contact  per  length.  Ultra  Short  Implants  can  be  placed  in  shallow  bone  without  endangering  nerves  and  blood  vessels.

Bicon  implants  do  not  need  screws  to  hold  the  tooth  to  the  implant  in  most  applications,  so  the  center  core  is  smaller,   the  bone  contact  area  greater,  and  there  is  no  worry  about  tiny  screws  breaking.

THREADED   implants  are  placed  under  pressure  so  the  bone  must  first  RESORB  before  it  returns  to  GROW  into  the  threads.  Bicon  FINNED  implants,  placed  passively,   allow bone  to  immediately  migrate into  the FINS ,  more  rapidly  binding  the  implant  to  the  bone.

Turn Back Time with Cosmetic Dentures and Partials

Once  teeth  are  lost,  the  bone  and  gum  tissue  immediately  start  to  shrink  and  the  lips, nose, cheeks  and  jaws  lose  their  support  resulting  in  the  aging  face  appearance.

Custom  Designed  Removable  Full  Dentures  are  the  best  way  to  rebuild  this  lost  support  with  acrylics/composites/vinyl  constructions.

Usually,  a  well  designed,  well  fitting  Upper  Denture  is  stable  and  needs  no  implant  support  underneath.  Some  loose  fitting  Lower  Dentures can provide  more  comfortable,  full  function  after  just  two  small  implant  snaps  are  placed  in  the  front  corners  underneath  the  denture.

Implants  are  wonderful,  but  cannot  “pad  out’  or  be  built  up enough   to  fully  support  the  lips,  cheeks,  nose  and  jaw  like  dentures  can.
